I love Christmas Music. I listen to this station pretty much year round (wearing headphones at work, or with the volume pretty low). In November 2004 I started the station just to share the Christmas carols and other music I had collected. That Christmas season the station peaked with just over 1,600 listener hours. But I had a great time, I received several email messages thanking me for the station. So I kept the station up through 2005.
Despite a massive server crash in July 2005, the number of listeners was steadily increasing. By September 2005, there were more listeners than in all of December 2004. In November my wife and I brainstormed the name of the station, and just before Thanksgiving, Christmas Music 24/7 was born. By the end of December 2005, Christmas Music 24/7 was the #1 Christmas station, and #33 of all the 5,000+ Live365 stations.
Christmas Music 24/7 broke into the Live365 Top 100 station list on December 15, 2005. I am thrilled to let you know that we just broke into the Top 100 earlier this week, on Thursday October 26, 2006! This is very exciting, and from the emails I’ve received and comments on the web site it seems there are a lot of other people out there enjoying Christmas music before Halloween as well.
A few people have asked how they can support the station. If you’d like to help me out there are a few options open to you. Broadcasting online is not an inexpensive hobby.
- Become a VIP listener.
VIP listeners don’t hear commercials! And VIP listeners are not subject to the limits that free listeners are. This also earns the station a few dollars, which helps offset the monthly bills. Simply click on the green “Support This Station” button on my station page.
- Send some money to me through Paypal. Any donations are not tax deductible, as Christmas Music 24/7 is not a non-profit organization.
- Mail a check to me. Make checks payable to Michael Clark. Mail to Michael Clark; PO Box 1560 Woodbridge; VA 22195-1560. Any donations are not tax deductible, as Christmas Music 24/7 is not a non-profit organization.
No one has to do anything to be able to listen to the station. But financial support is greatly appreciated. Even sending me an email letting me know that you enjoy the station is encouraging.
